About this DVD Piano Course

Each DVD, set in ‘Piano Land’ is carefully constructed in a very basic and creative format.

Through narration, Mimi the Musical Clown teaches the theory and practise of playing piano, by taking piano lessons to their absolute beginnings using repetitive scales and clear introduction to each key and musical note.

• Stage 1 - Uses the colours of the rainbow to create association by sound positioning and colour, it also teaches the C Scale & Finger positioning.
• Stage 2 - Teaching children about timing, rhythms and beats in a bar and the positioning of notes on the right hand by using the familiar rhymes Every Good Boy Deserves Food & FACE. Ensuring the user is confident to read music and count beats.
• Stage 3 Teaches children how to play with both hands using by introducing the left hand.

Using everything learnt on these DVD’s a child could confidently sit with a music book and work out the notes and play for their own pleasure. They may also "discover" they want to have lessons and progress to further levels.

This method is a useful introduction to parents who are curious about music and who would like to learn a few basics themselves without taking it to serious extremes. This course allows you to start helping children to grasp musical basics in a fun and enjoyable way.
